Kids will go ga-ga staying downtown--they can visit the vast Barnes and Noble bookstore, the ESPN Zone, or Port Discovery. They can feed popcorn to the sea gulls and bread to the ducks. Visit the Maryland Science Center and the National Aquarium--then rest up before at game at Camden Yards. Go Orioles.

Any place from the Days Inn-Inner Harbor to the Biltmore is a fine spot to call home for a few days or a few weeks. Kids will also enjoy the Renaissance Harborplace Hotel--aside from the fact that it is on top of a shopping mall and next door to another and near the water--its restaurant makes its own ice cream. Brookshire Suites offers a Magical Family Getaway Package that will delight everyone in the family. The Hyatt has the coolest elevator and outstanding views of the Inner Harbor.

Another great place right in the action is the Marriott Inner Harbor--and their friendly concierge will send you any information you need to plan your trips. The hotel is located not far from the historic Lexington Market. This is how people shopped before supermarkets (although there is a grocery store right inside).

If you'd like to just relax and hangout, you might find no better place than the Hampton Inn in White Marsh northeast of the city--right near the White Marsh Mall and The Avenue--shops and stadium seating movie theaters. There's a complimentary breakfast bar and free local phone calls--plus nonsmoking rooms and special services for those using wheelchairs and for the hearing-impaired. You can arrange for connecting rooms, cribs, and babysitting--And there's cable and a pool and laundry service. Don't you feel at home already?
